Kesha's official Facebook account posted a couple of behind-the-scenes photos during the music video on September 10, 2009.[1]
In 2022, the song has seen a surge in popularity after being used as a sound on the app, TikTok. This led to fans to urge Kesha to release the official music video for the song, to which she responded that she hears the fans. After the 2022 cruise was cancelled, Kesha held a private livestream for the people who were going and performed an acoustic version of the song.

The music video for the song was shot around September 20, 2009. "Backstabber" was set to be the second single off of Animal but was scrapped in favor of "Blah Blah Blah". On September 9, 2011, internet blogger, Perez Hilton, leaked the video on his website. Shortly after the upload, the video was taken down after RCA forced the removal of it. The video features make-up artist and singer, Jeffree Star.[5]
