Deconstructed is the second studio extended play by Ke$ha. It was released in a fan pack alongside her second studio album Warrior. It was released digital in November 30 in the U.S. and physically on December 4, 2012 and worldwide digitally on February 2013, before being removed and added to Warrior (Expanded Edition) in early 2019.
Background and development[]
Deconstructed contains five songs, four of which are stripped down versions of Ke$ha's songs, and one being a cover of Dolly Parton's "Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You".
The version of "Die Young" has been described as a form of relaxed psychedelic-beatless pop, sparking controversy among various social media websites. The version of "The Harold Song" includes relaxed vocals with a sawtooth wave base synthesizer side-chained to a kick drum over a piano synth. Also included is "Blow", a cover of Dolly Parton's country ballad "Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You", and "Supernatural", from Ke$ha's second studio album, Warrior.

"I think that in my music I brought out kind my wildest side on this record (Warrior) especially and I also have an EP called "Deconstructed", you can get on my website, there's the side of me that people maybe aren't familiar with and i'ts just like a little more rawa, little more broken down, little more less production a little less wild. But I am for the most part I'm pretty true to form like I write all my own music what you see is what you get and very much like take it or leave it.[1]

Idolator opined:
"Yes, it’s the Deconstructed EP, which finally gives fans of K$’s vocals (she can actually sing, swear!) what we’ve been wanting, with pared-down instrumentation and a clear vocal track on songs like “Blow,” “Die Young” and her Cannibal fan favorite “The Harold Song.”
The album version’s haunting, ambient pop production gets traded for a spare acoustic track, the absence of autotune revealing a lovely tremor in Ke$ha’s voice. “They say that true love hurts, well this could almost kill me / Young love murdered, that is what this must be / I would give it all to not be sleeping alone,” she sings over fuzzy, lo-fi instrumentation."[2]

"Deconstructed is an EP that all Ke$ha naysayers should listen to. She’s much more than a party girl who got lucky. She’s got real talent and the sign of a good song is always what it sounds like acoustic. Thankfully for Ke$ha they still stand up so people need to take notice and recognise the talent she has."[3]
